A bewitching spring bloom, better known as the Dog’s Tooth Violet, Erythronium ‘Dens Canis Purple King’ will bring sweetness and charm to shady areas of your garden during March and April.

Nodding, cyclamen-purple flowers, on stems up to 10cm tall bloom from a rosette of broad, heavily mottled leaves. Erythronium Dens Canis Purple King's elegant petals recurve gracefully, exposing long stamens with purple-tipped anthers.

These fascinating perennials are invaluable for adding intrigue and interest to bare corners of the garden. Plant the bulbs, shaped like canine teeth, in groups under the dappled shade of mature trees or shrubs where they will settle and multiply over the years.

The luminous, delicate, pearly blooms of Narcissi ‘Toto’ glow with an iridescent quality. Opalescent, slightly reflexed petals encircle a slender trumpet which emerges as a pale yellow and fades to warm white, gradually blending with the surrounding perianth.

The demure, dainty blooms have a refined air whilst still providing a lavish display, carrying up to 3 heads on each sturdy stem. Narcissus ‘Toto’ has been granted the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit in recognition of its outstanding resilience and versatility. The starry blooms bring sparkle to rockeries, container displays, borders, shrubberies, and lawns where they will gladly naturalise.

Soft-pink buds burst into a cluster of perfumed fuchsia florets around Christmastime, covering the stems of Hyacinth ‘Pink Pearl.’

These specially prepared bulbs are designed to flower indoors during the darkest depths of winter, when colour and scent are most welcome in the home.

Despatched in September, the bulbs should be planted shallowly in bowls, baskets or containers, with the green tip and section of bulb just above soil level and will bloom in 10-12 weeks.

Hyacinth Pink Pearl is also ideal for forcing in water. Place a prepared bulb in the top of a hyacinth vase, with the base sitting above, but not touching water level. Roots will rapidly form, seeking out the water below – a miraculous process which is fascinating to watch.

For Christmas flowers, keep your containers in a cool, dark place until the beginning of December when they can be brought out into the light.
