The nectar-rich flowers bloom during June and July and are a magnet for bees and butterflies. Grass-like foliage fades just before the flowers appear.
Sometimes known as ‘ookow’, this North American native is related to the wild hyacinth and thrives in well-drained soil – ideal for rockeries, hot, sunny borders and prairie planting schemes.
