With delicate, Easter-egg colours of pale lilac centring around a soft, butter yellow base, Tulip Species ‘Saxatilis’ makes an early appearance to welcome warmer spring days. Misty mauve petals exhibit a silvery, sparkling sheen against a handsome backdrop of glossy, dark green leaves.
Found growing in great swathes on the rocky hillsides of the Aegean Islands, these botanical tulips make an excellent choice for naturalising on well-drained soil amongst borders and lawns. Discovered growing in breath-taking swathes on the mountains of Crete, Species Tulip ‘Lilac Wonder’ is a sensational Species tulip. Misty lavender petals spread out to form a bowl-shaped star, disclosing a clearly demarcated, bold yellow heart. The perky, playful, diminutive blooms dance above ribbons of glossy foliage.
