Allium Ostara
M4998
Rich purple-red flowers dazzle and gleam in the early summer garden as they rise and bloom on sturdy stems during May and June.
Allium ‘Ostara’ is a cross between two other popular species of Allium – Atropurpureum and Karataviense and blends the best qualities of both varieties together with attractive, broad leaves and luscious burgundy flowers.
Plant allium Ostara bulbs near to the front or middle of a perennial border or in a large container situated in full sun.
The large and distinctive flowers are long lasting, excellent for cutting and highly attractive to pollinators.
Care Guide
Plant in rich, well-drained soil.
The larger bulbs should be planted 10cm (4”) deep and the smaller ones 5cm (2”) deep; they may be left undisturbed for many years.
