Amarine Amarine Tomoko
M7507
Plant the bulbs of Amarine ‘Tomoko’ in a spot where the autumn sunshine will illuminate its vivid pink blooms.
During September, slim dark stems bearing pointed buds rise up from a bed of grassy foliage, dramatically bursting into posies of hot-pink, lily-like flowers. Dancing in the breeze above shorter plants, Amarine ‘Tomoko’ provides valuable colour and dramatic elegance in the autumn garden.
Amarines are a cross between Nerines and Amaryllis and have inherited the best qualities from both plants; they also make fabulous, long-stemmed cut flowers.
Care Guide
Plant frost hardy Amarine bulbs shallowly in a sunny but sheltered, well-drained location or large container. Ensure the neck of the large bulb sits just above the soil surface, planting 10 cm deep and 15 cm apart. Soil should remain consistently moist. Slender stems will reach heights of 75 cm, each bearing up to 10 exquisite, lily-like flowers. Avoid disturbing the roots once planted, allowing your Amarines to establish themselves. Bulbs can be lifted and divided every few years when clumps become overcrowded.
