The exuberant flowers of Incarvillea ‘Delavayi’ are held in multi-headed clusters at the top of sturdy stems. Sizeable, mauve-pink petals flare outwards to reveal a golden heart.
Otherwise known as the ‘flowering fern’, Incarvillea ‘Delavayi’ features delicate fronds of foliage which provide an attractive backdrop to the trumpet-shaped blooms. Despite their tropical appearance, Incarvillea are native to the mountainous regions of China and are surprisingly hardy when grown on well-drained soil.
These petite gems are a wonderful, exotic addition to rock gardens, herbaceous borders, and containers. The strong stems also make lovely cut flowers for arranging into bud vases.
