An exceptional dahlia, 'Honka Surprise' stands out with its captivating star-shaped beauty. Each unique dark pink almost red bloom melts towards the yellow centre and offers a haven for pollinators through the flowering period of mid summer to the first frosts.
A striking and colourful, a conversation piece in any garden, this sweetly scented Dahlia 'Honka Surprise' grows to between 60-80 cm. Cut and display as single stems in tiny bud vases to marvel at the intricately formed blooms.

Care Guide
To grow Dahlias, select a sunny spot with well-drained soil, and dig a 30 cm deep hole. Plant the tuber 10 cm below the soil surface, spacing multiple tubers 45 cm apart, or 90 cm for taller varieties. Water consistently, maintaining moist but not saturated soil and protect new shoots from slug damage with eco-friendly methods. Feed plants during the blooming period with liquid plant food. Provide support for stems which will reach 60-90 cm tall depending on variety. Enjoy spectacular blooms from late summer until first frosts. Cut or deadhead the flowers regularly for a continually flourishing display. Once blooming has finished, cut back foliage before lifting, drying and storing the tubers in peat-free substitute, in a frost-free place until the following spring.

The huge flowerheads are impactful, both in the garden and in flower arrangements. Tall, sturdy stems hold the fully-double flowers proud and upright in the border. Grows to a height of 100 cm.
