Decorative Dahlia Arabian Night
D4022
A profuse bloomer, Decorative Dahlia ‘Arabian Night’ bears masses of deep maroon flowers from July until first frosts, atop tall, straight stems.
Depending on the light and time of year, the velvety petals of the decorative dahlia 'Arabian NIght' range from almost-black, to crimson-red with a glowing magenta wash. Grows to a height of 100 cm.
Deadhead spent flowers, or better still, pick the stems to enjoy as cut flowers and you will promote new buds to form continuously through the season. Looks fabulous in a border with airy sanguisorba and jewel-toned dahlias at a variety of heights.
de Jager's top size, top quality dahlia tubers are supplied polythene bags, in which they may be safely kept until planting time, stored in a cool place.
Care Guide
To grow Dahlias, select a sunny spot with well-drained soil, and dig a 30 cm deep hole. Plant the tuber 10 cm below the soil surface, spacing multiple tubers 45 cm apart, or 90 cm for taller varieties. Water consistently, maintaining moist but not saturated soil and protect new shoots from slug damage with eco-friendly methods. Feed plants during the blooming period with liquid plant food. Provide support for stems which will reach 60-90 cm tall depending on variety. Enjoy spectacular blooms from late summer until first frosts. Cut or deadhead the flowers regularly for a continually flourishing display. Once blooming has finished, cut back foliage before lifting, drying and storing the tubers in peat-free substitute, in a frost-free place until the following spring.

Patty
G5002
Striking spears of pillar-box red blooms erupt during late summer from the corms of Glamini Gladioli ‘Patty’. Voluptuous, ruffled scarlet flowers smother the sword-like stems, opening from the base upwards. Each bloom fades to salmon-pink towards the centre and features pretty, contrasting white stripes.
An unusual, eye-catching choice for colourful patio pots and large containers. These ‘mini’ gladioli do not require any support and are half the height of their giant cousins. Useful for cutting, Gladioli Glamini 'Patty' adds drama and shape to seasonal flower displays.
de Jager top quality, top size Glamini Gladioli are best grown in fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny spot. Plant the corms a week or two apart throughout spring for a long succession of pretty flowers.
