Begonia 'Florence' is wonderful for adding beautiful shades of colour to your summer displays. Double frilled rosy-pink and white blooms that can reach up to 7 cm in diameter with dark green serrated foliage. Our begonias flower for months on end, from May until at least September.
Begonias thrive best in light soil which is rich in leaf-mould, in a position in part shade where the layered flowers shimmer as they catch the light. Start in March or April, preferably in a cold frame or greenhouse.
Fill pots, hanging baskets, window-boxes, and borders with cascading Florence begonias for a show-stopping display. They can reach a flowering height of up to 20-25 cm.
de Jager's Begonia 'Florence' tubers are top quality, top size and really make a huge difference in terms of flowering.
Begonia tubers should be started in March or April, in a cold frame or greenhouse.
Choose a pot with a 20 cm diameter and several holes in the bottom for drainage. Fill it with rich, good quality compost, leaving a 5 cm gap from the rim. Plant your Begonia tuber with the hollow side uppermost, ensuring it sits 2.5 cm below the soil surface. Water consistently, keeping the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Place the pot undercover, in a shaded area with temperatures around 18-24°C and shoots will soon start to appear.
Once the danger of frost has passed, usually around the beginning of June, Begonias can be planted out.
In October, lift the tubers, remove faded foliage and store in a frost-free place, in dry compost or wood shavings.

Petite spears of Glamini Gladioli ‘Kim’ are ideal for summer containers and garden borders. The stature of these mini-gladioli are much smaller than the taller, sword-like stems of giant gladioli, which are often grown for cutting and for adding height and colour to garden beds.
Ruffled blooms of blackcurrant-purple swirled with creamy white cloak stems, opening from the bottom upwards during late summer. Excellent for cutting to add to bouquets and summer flower arrangements.
de Jager top quality, top size Glamini Gladioli are best grown in fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny spot. Plant the corms a week or two apart throughout spring for a long succession of pretty flowers.
