Allium Schubertii
M5017
Showy Allium ‘Schubertii’ explodes into action during May and June with its large, sparkler-like blooms of mallow-purple. The tubular flowers are held out on long pedicles at varying lengths, creating a striking and impressive effect in the border.
This dramatic Allium is extremely popular for cutting and using in floral displays. Left to dry, it provides stunning textured material for winter interest in the garden and for decorative, ornamental use in the home, especially at Christmastime.
Plant the bulbs in well-drained soil in a spot in full sun. In colder regions, mulch the planting area in autumn to provide winter protection or bring pots undercover for the coldest months.
Care Guide
Plant in rich, well-drained soil.
The larger bulbs should be planted 10cm (4”) deep and the smaller ones 5cm (2”) deep; they may be left undisturbed for many years.
