Allium Globemaster
M5009
A stately Allium bearing enormous heads of aster-violet in June. Allium ‘Globemaster’ enhances any early summer planting scheme in long-established, as well as modern gardens.
With stems reaching almost a metre in height, ‘Globemaster’ is best planted near the centre or back of a large, sweeping border where it will punctuate your perennial planting with huge mauve spheres.
A prestigious Award of Garden Merit has been given to this distinguished Allium by the RHS for excellent garden qualities, reliability and handsome looks.
Excellent as a cut flower for large-scale floral displays and installations. The seedheads can be hung to dry or left on the plants to bring garden interest in winter.
Care Guide
Plant in rich, well-drained soil.
The larger bulbs should be planted 10cm (4”) deep and the smaller ones 5cm (2”) deep; they may be left undisturbed for many years.
